Earlier this month, we went to see a horse driving competition in the next village. Well, I went to see it. Rhys went to see the cranes / diggers that were sponsoring the event. Hazel went for the park.
It was the first time I've seen a competition.
There are obviously different categories depending on the size of the horse, and if there are one or two horses, and it seemed to start with novices and continue to the more experienced.
They start with dressage.
And then they do a timed obstacle course - points off for going over time, or toppling the balls on top of the orange cones. The fastest teams have the passenger standing in the back, and leaning around the turns.
Thanks to Antoine for looking after the kids whilst I watched! They had a good time.
Earlier this month, we also planted up some strawberries. Hazel was very happy, and Rhys liked to help. She asked every morning for 4 days if we could check if we had some strawberries to pick yet...
