The view!

View from the appartment balcony.

Sunrise on xmas day.  The skiers are staff, checking the slope before it opens to the public.

Where's Wally Antoine?  As seen from our balcony, on his way up the mountain!

Presents and Rasperry Tart!

Here is Hazel on Christmas morning opening and playing with her gifts.
She is also modelling her Christmas dress, made by me.  Only took THREE attempts!

For lunch, we had guniea fowl.  Hazel thought that was alright.  She was much much more excited for raspberry tart dessert!

Hazel Ski Bunny

Back from holidays!  Hazel thoroughly enjoyed herself in the snow.  She loved sledding about, and stomping through the snow.

Christmas lunch at Mia's house

Lovely Christmas lunch at Mia's house today.  Yummy lunch, and present exchanges, brilliant!

Hazel loved the lasagne.  She is mainly self feeding these days.  Can you tell?

Mia was modelling the Christmas dress that I made her.  It was originally made for Hazel, but it was too small.  Mia was the lucky recipient of my miscalculations (or rather plain old lack of calculations)!  Not too shabby for a first sewing attempt and a free pattern, even if I do say so myself.

A dip in the pool

Even though it is 1 degree out, the pool is nice and warm on a Saturday morning.
Hazel had a fun time this morning with her Dad.  I sat this one out, and took some happy snaps instead.
As you can see, Hazel loves Saturday morning swimming!

Modelling her new bathers.

Smiling for the camera.

Meeting new people.

Can you guess what Hazel thinks of sharing the ball with her little friend.  I'll give you a clue.  It starts with an 'N' and ends with an 'ooooooooooooooooo!'.
And splashing!

I scream, You scream, we all scream for....

Mamie and Papy came for a visit this weekend, to celebrate Papy's birthday.
For birthday lunch we had guinea fowl, with potato gratin.  And for dessert we had a Baked Alaska.
Hazel says 'Yes!' to icecream, cake and meringue coming together in one dessert, even if it is a little cold.

Finger Painting

Making Papy's birthday present.
Who is having the most fun though?

Put the lid on

Fascinated with shutting doors, cupboards, and putting lids on everything, taking a picture of Hazel has become difficult of late - lest she wants to put the lens cap back on the camera.

Dress ups

Any fabric item (tea towels, wet washing on the clothes horse, Daddy's tie left too close to the edge of the table) left lying around will be modelled!

Riding her Zebra

Hazel's favourite toy of the moment is her zebra (and her doll, Tony, which she takes everywhere, seen here in the zebra's basket!).  Whilst her legs have been long enough to ride it for a little while, she has just grasped the concept of pushing it around herself, and she loves it.  A little more work on the steering, and I suspect she'll be racing laps around the dinning room table in no time.

Blowing Kisses and NO!

Hazel has started to blow kisses this week.

Here she is to give an actual kiss to the camera.  Perhaps taking 'the camera loves you, baby' a little too literally.

Kisses are very nice.  And they very nicely counter balance her other new skill of the week: the word 'no'.  So happy is she with this word, that she has decided that it is the appropriate first answer to every question.  So, a typical Mummy-Hazel conversation this week has been:
M - 'Hazel, would you like some banana bread for afternoon tea?'
H - (furious head-shake) 'NO!'
2 seconds later
H - (running towards high-chair)  'mmmmmmmmmmmm'

It's cold out!

Winter has arrived - it's snowing right now.
Hazel has the snug-as-a-bug bit sorted.  Her she is in her new pusher sleeping bag thingee!

Grinning

Hazel's best cheeky monkey face, after being found ripping the pegs off the clothes horse....
....and her best 'I got new shoes, and a new shoe box' smile!

Autumn afternoon at the park

Lovely afternoon spent at our local park, kicking the ball around and waving to the beautiful people.
It wasn't a prearranged playdate, but Mia and her folks had the same idea too!
