School Pics!

Nutbag's first school pics!  (Apologies for the crappy resolution / orientation- scanned them...)

Photographer clearly said the right thing for the smile in the individual shot...

For the group photo, however, "Say Fromage!" clearly pissed off her, and some of her blindfolded raccoon friends!

Uncle Pally's here!!!!!

And he's got presents!
Including a new pair of Peppa Pig sunnies - which means Hazel was able to loan the old pair to Pally.
Lucky Pally!

On Wednesday, whilst Rhys was at creche, Hazel and I took him to Pierrefonds for a moules-frites lunch, and a look at the chateau.

That evening their were more presents!
Hazel thinks Uncle Pally is a "nice guy"!

one silly monkey jumping on the bed....

baby's first black eye....
The Nut is trying to learn the hard way that Mummy's advice might be useful.  Like "  lie the truck down and have a sleep." and " somersaults are for baby gym with the mats" .
this happens when she ignores both of those bits of advice.

Birthday Celebrations

The birthday celebrations continued this weekend with Mamie and Papy.

Hazel was very excited to play with her presents, a doctor's kit and a princess dress.

Her 3rd birthday cake (a raspberry tartlet on the day, Peppa Pig cupcakes at school on Friday, and then her number 3 cake) for her 3rd birthday.   Seems only fair.

Waiting patiently for it to be brought from the kitchen....

Look at the Smartie flowers!

And blowing out the candles!

What am I going to do with all these apples?

After the huge number of plums we were given from the neighbours (from which i made jam, ginger and plum cake and plum crumble),  I'm now faced with an enormous quantity of apples from our own two trees.

Today I made apple jelly, and I didn't even need skin grafts.  Go me!!!

No tears here!

The Nut was pretty happy to go to school!
And after meeting her teacher, and showing her where to put her bag and jumper, she was pretty keen for us to leave so that she could get on with playing with the business of playing with her new friends.

micro-bob!

The Nut had her hair cut on Saturday.  Unfortunately the hairdresser did such a bad job that one side was 1-2cm longer on one side than the other, and the whole cut was choppy.

Went back today to see another person in the same salon to fix it. Still not straight, but we're not going any shorter - the neck shaving was not the Nut's favourite part of the experience.

I could bitch on for several paragraphs about the quality of the cuts, the cranky non-kid 2nd stylist who after carrying on about how 5 clients from last week had already been back to correct her colleague's work, said that Hazel probably moved too much, etc etc.....

All that to learn that actually,  a micro bob is a good look on the Nut!

Pics of last weekend.

Last weekend I took a lot of pics, but I had the camera on the wrong setting, and most turned out pants...

Here are two of the smiley dude that worked out ok!

Jumperoooooooo

Unpacked the jumperoo for Rhys yesterday.  I think he likes it!!

Whilst he had a nap, I did a bit of gardening (with Hazel's help!), and saw this in the hedge next to where I was weeding.
